Our story

1888

Just like our evolutionary mattress, our company, founded in 1888 by the Giddings family, has evolved over the years.

1955

In the mid-1950s, the manufacturing of rattan furniture gave way to mattresses. Several years later, the international giant Thérapedic acquired the company, making it the largest manufacturer of private label mattresses in Quebec.

2016

In 2016, the name La Fabrique de Matelas was officially established. Continuing to offer 100% Quebec-made products, we revolutionized the mattress with SwitchfoamTM technology, making it possible to offer the one and only 100% customizable and scalable mattress.

2020

Thanks to our growth, the first 2 franchises were opened in 2020, bringing the total number of stores to 7. The two owners of the franchises, with over 40 years of experience in furniture sales, are helping to improve the La Fabrique de Matelas experience by increasing its accessibility and service.
